  5. Department of Economics

1. Department of Research and Development

In our days we spent too much time to talk about problems and not enough time to solve the problems.

For us: Research is an Art while Development is Creativity.

Our research include

  • Academic research
  • Industrial Research
  • European Co-operations
  • Eco-Innovations Programs
  • v Management of solid organic waste with composting methods like:

    ü Sewage sludge with zeolites

ü Sewage sludge with organic fraction of municipal waste and zeolites

ü Sewage sludge with waste paper

ü Sawdust, waste paper, green waste

    ü Olive oil waste

ü Olive oil waste treated with Fenton reagents

ü Cows solid waste, poultry waste

ü Solid waste and liquid waste from wineries

    v Environmental Resource Management

v Sustainable Development & Coastal Environment

v Design waste treatment plants for solid waste

v In the applications of technique for the remediation of agricultural fields.

v Management of Liquid waste. Methods are applied in order to detoxify heavy polluted waste like olive oils liquid waste, wineries liquid waste, milk industries, food industries using FENTON reagents, or electrochemical methods Pt/Ti electrode

v In the design of Liquid waste treatment plants

ü Optimization of the performance wastewater treatment plant of food industries

ü Evaluation of StartUp and Optimization of Wastewater Treatment and Disinfections of Secondary Treated Water Under Warm Climate Conditions.

ü Optimization of drinking waters using ion exchanges filter (like clinoptilolites)

ü Removal of heavy metals from the effluents of wastewater treatment plants using zeolites

ü Treatment of cosmetics liquid waste using Fenton reagents. Application systems

ü Reed bets applications system for the treatment of liquid waste

ü Detoxification of heavy polluted waste like leachates or pesticides by using electrochemical oxidation (Ti/Pt electrode).

ü Treatment of the liquid waste from Airplanes

v Methodology for the removal of toxic metals from sewage sludge using natural zeolites, or using organic and inorganic acids and the research for their thermal treatment

v Removal of metals from aqua solutions and drinkable water using natural minerals (zeolites)
